We were invited to produce two live Ibiza Experiences for a new bar in the UK. We brought together four DJ’s to create a memorable day/night experience.
The events took place on the roof terrace of a Grade-2 listed building overlooked by a Grade -1 listed church providing an atmospheric feel to both events.
The bar had been developed by our sister company in the UK, BackDoor Productions (BackDoor) as a 1920’s Speakeasy type establishment having regard to the Art-Deco period and Jazz/Swing music vibe. The bar has a “high-end” cocktail bar feel due to its “nooks and crannies” and the fact that affluent local villages border the town.
Backdoor developed the brand known as “The Dry Spy” with appropriate imagery including a unique logo using a talented graphic design team. It was important that the era was depicted by the logo and had a story behind it as we felt that this would form an integral part of the customer experience. We also developed the music brand for the venue utilising electro-swing as the basis of the music genre.
We saw the value of the outside terrace space and sourced a supplier of a structure which could be adapted for all weather conditions. We negotiated the cost and delivery schedule on behalf of the client.
Finally, we sourced a garden design and landscape firm and engaged them to complete the garden project which culminated in the design and development of a three-tier garden terrace and outside bar area.
After completing the project, BackDoor was asked to develop one of the smaller delivery service areas into a small fine dining restaurant. The brand was further developed by incorporating “Cassiday’s at the Dry Spy” after George Cassiday (the Man in the Green Hat) who served as the US congress primary bootlegger during the prohibition era.
Backdoor managed the project from “Start to Finish” incorporating the recruitment of a General Manager, Executive Chef and Front of House Supervisor together with staff members.
We also enlisted assistance from local specialist interior designers and fit-out and refurbishment contractors to bring this project to life.
